When he was 11, Nick van de Wall downloaded the software looping program Fruity Loops. At this point in time his talent and passion for creating music truly surfaced and thus, Afrojack was born. Come 2007, Afro started his own label, Wall Recordings, and has produced some amazing original beats, as well as crafting some legendary remixes that are played in clubs and headphones world-wide, and that was just the beginning.
His tracks get played and massively supported by multiple genre international DJ's like David Guetta, Josh Wink, Dave Clarke, Laidback Luke, Fedde Le Grand, Marco V, Richard Durand, and national like DJ's Benny Rodrigues, Erick E, Roog, Sidney Samson. Just to name a few.
Since he was good enough to help us mix our upcoming release, Underground 2010 (out on the 12th of February), we sat down with Afrojack and asked him a few questions.
Lots and lots of music. And airport announcements ;).
Pacha Ibiza, Ivy Sydney and a few more!
I started producing/ DJing half a lifetime ago. My biggest influences were Laidback Luke, Benny Rodrigues and the guys of the Swedish House Mafia.
I would have dinner with Bobby Burns, Sidney Samson, Steve Aoki, Laidback Luke, just because they‘re all super cool people.
When I am a sleep, I always sleep on my side!
That should be enough to wet your whistle. Want more? Check him out on facebook. Check out this video of Afrojack playing at The Family in Brisbane for our event, JACKED.
