Heart Weighs A Ton

Equally adept at grinding out hard-hitting techno as he is reworking bona-fide popstars, Alex Metric has consistently showcased a versatility and depth throughout his career which shows no sign of slowing down with the release of ‘Heart Weighs A Ton’.

His latest offering combines the best of both worlds: retaining enough bite for the club whilst offering up a huge chorus aimed squarely at the charts. It’s an unashamedly epic track, with a big house piano riff holding the rhythm down, before a mammoth line synth cascades over the vocal hook from Stefan Storm.

Metric is certainly carving out a niche in the new frontier of electronic music and he will soon be returning to Australia for the massive Stereosonic festival. Skrillex’s respect for him as DJ and producer paved the way for him to settle down nicely amongst his new OWSLA label mates. Metric continues to reinterpret and pay homage to the great genres of UK dance past while weaving in the freshest contemporary sounds of his new home. A chameleon maybe, but Alex Metric is undeniably one of the greatest contemporary UK dance exports.

With remixes coming from Etherwood and Friend Within, the complete ‘Heart Weighs A Ton’ package will continue to push Metric’s distinctive sound into new and exciting territory.
