About

While Ministry of Sound know how do the big main room sound, we are equally concerned with bringing you the latest underground tracks and emerging styles; important records from the frontline, which represent the next step in the evolution of dance music.

Which is why we are pleased to bring you Underground, a 3 disc collection of tracks whose impact will be felt well into 2010. Mixed by Justin Martin, Style of Eye, and Klaus Hill, this forward thinking album brings you ear-to-ear with the producers, labels, remixers, and DJs who are truly shaping the direction of underground house music.

Disc 1 is brought to you courtesy of Justin Martin, this San Francisco native has long been known as a leader in the evolution of house music, having scored releases under labels like Positiva, Om, Buzzin’ Fly, and Dirty Bird. Justin’s disc immerses you in an off-beat selection of percussive, deep tracks.

Manning Disc 2 is none other than the Heavyweight hero himself, Klaus Hill, who delivers burgeoning breakthrough tracks, many of which are to set to cross over into the bigger realms of dance music. Klaus is a London dance music stalwart and Australian mega-producer, whose remixes of artists including The Aston Shuffle, Rogue Traders, and Cicada, as well as his own productions have established a sound that transcends the fidget house genre.

Meanwhile, Sweden’s Style of Eye lends his touch to Disc 3. Having released a string of well received records through Pickadoll, Classic, and Dirtybird, Style of Eye has also been nominated for a Swedish Grammy for Best Electronic Producer, and his recent artist album Duck, Cover, and Hold further cemented his reputation as “a producer with direction, drive, and vision” (International DJ).

This is not just another commercial house release. Underground brings you the next generation of house tracks from the most important artists fuelling the underground: Popof, Wolfgang Gartner, Fake Blood, Claude von Stroke, Wolfgang Gartner, Afrojack, Dizzee Rascal & Armand van Helden, Bloody Beetroots, Diplo & Laidback Luke, Zombie Disco Squad, Mike Monday, Lutzenkirchen, as well as your maestros, Style of Eye, Justin Martin, and Klaus Hill.

I don't know what I was talkin about when I said Grey Agenda was my fave. It's Wild Out is one of the best. There are heaps of awesome songs on this so I say it's a mad cd overall. And I only just realised that Grounded is on disc 3 3 times! The guy talking in the beginning is mixed into It's Wild Out, the main vocals are in La Palma AND there's the original track! Way to publicise a song...
