LCD Soundsystem

LCD Soundsystem are Punk Funk duo of James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy in the studio. Live, they are joined by Pat Mahoney (drums), Nancy Whang (keyboards, vocals), Tyler Pope (bass), and Phil Mossman (guitar, percussion, keys, bass). LCD Soundsystem gained attention with it’s first single, ‘Losing My Edge’. Described as "an eight-minute, laugh-out-loud funny dissection of cool over a dirty electronic beat” the single became an underground dance favourite. This was followed by other well received singles ‘Give It Up’ and ‘Yeah’.

LCD Soundsystem released a double disc set simply titled LCD Soundsystem in February of 2005 to critical acclaim. The first disc contains the album and the second contains re-releases of previous singles. The opening track ‘Daft Punk Is Playing at My House’ became a cult hit overnight and featured on a number of video game soundtracks.

LCD Soundsystem's second album, Sound of Silver, was released on 2007, to near universal critical acclaim. Praise included iconic music magazine Mixmag awarding it the title ‘Album of the Month’. The album release was preceded by the single ‘North American Scum’. Singles to follow the release were ‘All My friends’, ‘Get Innocuous’ (which features in Ministry of Sound Mashed 4), ‘Time To get Away’ and ‘Someone Great’.
