Vito Lucente, better known as Junior Jack, is an Italian DJ/Producer based in Brussels.
Vito started his production career back in 1990 and has produced under a number of various monikers such as Mr Jack (‘Wiggly World’), Kef’e (‘Can You See It’), Hugh K (‘Shine On’) and Room 5 (‘Make Luv’ the #1 dance hit which appeared on the Ministry of Sound 2004 Annual and Chillout Sessions 4, and ‘Music In You’ which featured on the Ministry of Sound Clubbers Guide to 2004). However, it is Junior Jack by which is most famously known as a household name.
Junior Jack’s first chart topping success was in 1999 with the release of ‘My Feeling’. This single appeared on over 50 dance compilations worldwide. It was this track which put Junior Jack on the map, however it was his next single that was the milestone in his career. The classic bass-line monster ‘Thrill Me’ (featured on Ministry of Sound Club Nation 2002 and the Ministry of Sound 2003 Annual) was released in 2002, immediately becoming a huge club anthem across the world. Subsequently it was licensed to more than 40 dance compilations worldwide. Junior Jack followed this success up with a string of chart topping hits, such as ‘E-Samba’ (featured on over 70 dance compilations worldwide, including the Ministry of Sound 2004 Annual and Ministry of Sound House Sessions), ‘Da Hype’ featuring Robert Smith (features on Ministry of Sound Clubbers Guide to 2004) and ‘Stupidisco’ (features on the Ministry of Sound 2005 Annual and Ministry of Sound Sessions One). All of these tracks featured on Junior Jack’s debut album Trust It. Due to Junior Jack’s ongoing success as a producer and DJ, he quickly became one of dance music’s most sought after remixers.
He was commissioned to remix the likes of Bob Sinclar’s ‘The Beat Goes On’ (featured on the Ministry of Sound 2004 Annual), The Bodyrockers ‘I Like The Way’ (featured on the Ministry of Sound Sessions Two) and Thick Dick’s ‘Insatiable’ (featured on the Ministry of Sound Clubbers Guide to 2003). Some of the other artist Junior Jack has remixed include Moby, Seal, Mary J Blige, Britney Spears and Duran Duran.
