About

Groove Armada is an electronic music duo from Camridge, England, composed of two members, Andy Cato (real name Andrew Cocup) and Tom Findlay. The pair first got together in the mid 90’s, and rose to fame in 1997 with their release ‘At The River’, which features on Ministry of Sound Chillout 2.

‘GA’s’first album Northern Star was released in 1998, followed by their second album Vertigo in 1999. This featured the international hit ‘I See You Baby’, which was remixed by Big Beat king, Fatboy Slim, and featured on numerous compilations and advertising campaigns across the world.

Their next studio album Goodbye Country: Hello Nightclub was released in 2001, and as its title suggests marked a move away from chillout to more upbeat music - as demonstrated by the Grammy nominated single ‘Superstylin’ (features on Ministry of Sound Clubbers Guide To Breaks 2 and the 2003 Ministry of Sound Annual). In 2002 ‘GA’ released their fourth album Lovebox, this album once again provided a range of styles and was noticeably sassy. The album included the tracks ‘Easy’ (features on Ministry of Sound House Sessions), ‘Final Shakedown’ (features on the 2004 Ministry of Sound Annual) and ‘But I Feel Good’ (featues on Chillout Sessions 5).

A Greatest Hits album appeared in 2004, before their latest studio album Soundboy Rock in 2007. The album featured tracks such as ‘Get Down’, ‘Love Sweet Sound’ and ‘Song 4 Mutya (Out of Control)’ which features the vocals of ex-Sugababes singer Mutya Buena.

Following the successful Soundboy Rock singles, an updated best-of set titled Greatest Hits was releasedat the end of 2007. This was accompanied by a GA10: 10 Year Story, a 2CD rarities collection to celebrate their tenth anniversary as a band.
