Cicada are a three piece band comprising of Aaron Gilbert, Alex Payne and Icelandic vocalist Heidrun Bjornsdottir (formally of Gus Gus).
Cicada have released several critically-acclaimed singles including, ‘The Things You Say’ (the Dirty South mix featured on the 2007 Ministry of Sound Annual), ‘Cut Right Through’ and ‘Beautiful(Electric Blue)’(which features on the Ministry of Sound Clubbers Guide to 2008).
Cicada have also completed remix work for the likes of Depeche Mode, New Order, Jakatta, Mish Mash and Dannii Minogue.
In 2006, Cicada picked up rave plaudits for their debut album, ‘Cicada’, everywhere from Mixmag to Music Week, DJ magazine to Record Collector and beyond, gave them glowing praise, highlighting the gap in the scene for an electro pop band with the song-writing to match their hooks. Now establishing themselves on the live circuit, with acclaimed gig performances already under their belts, they’re set to be a mainstay of festivals across the globe in 2007.
