Trance Nation Tour with Exis

We caught up with Australian producer and DJ, Exis, on the latest Trance Nation Tour hosted by Ministry of Sound. As the tour wraps up, we asked Exis to reflect back on his time on the road.

Favorite show on the tour?

I would say playing in Sky Garden, Bali was my favourite show! It really was an amazing experience to play in a different country, at the biggest most popular club that attracts a mixture of locals and tourists. The night was insane!

Favorite venue?

Definitely Pacha. I love its design, the multi-levels, the random decor/objects and being an open air club! In fact, it was raining during the end of my set and I thought that was pretty awesome.

Unforgettable moment on tour?

Most unforgettable moment on tour was in Bali when I only had two hours of sleep from my gig at Sky Garden the night before and then spent the whole day scuba diving followed by partying again in Sky Garden to watch Mark Sixma play. This all lead to another only two hours sleep and then did another day of tourist activities! All of this with a bunch of awesome people that I only just met in Bali (except one guy from Darwin whom I already knew). I really made the most out of that trip!

What's next for you?

Next up is Vietnam on Apr 23rd! It will be my first time playing in that country. Music-wise, I have a new track coming out on Armada on Apr 22nd which I'm really excited for :)

Exis Tour Diary

February 5th: Darwin, NT

I kept hearing about crocodile meat in Darwin so as soon as I landed the first thing I did was order a croc burger! Would eat again.

February 5th: Discovery, Darwin

After I finish my sets I usually like to meet and interact with my fans. When you have dedicated, passionate Trance fans that come out to see you play, doing this makes it that extra special for them.

February 12th: Somewhere between Melbourne and Perth

There's just something about seeing nature. As soon as I saw the beautiful view of greenery I felt so relaxed and just really appreciated being able to do what I love in life.

April 9th: Sky Garden, Bali

What this tour is all about! Playing music I love in front of crowds making sure everyone has a great time!

April 10th: Blue Lagoon, Bali

Scuba diving in one of the hot spots of Bali. This was quite scary but it's a good thing we were given some "proper" training first.

April 11th: Monkey Forest, Bali

Went to a Monkey Forest where we had the whole forest to ourselves! Look how happy the monkeys are :)

April 12th: Bali, Indonesia

During one of our day trips. This photo shows the people I met during this trip and the local hero, Kurnia. He's such a kind, happy man and took great care of us!
