STOP SYDNEY BECOMING A 'NANNA STATE'

CALLING ANY ONE WHO LOVES OR LOVED A GOOD NIGHT OF CLUBBING...

We need your help...

There are lots of us that like to dance, to have a drink, to stay out late, and have a good time into the small hours .... without bothering anyone. But what most people don’t know is that it’s about to change and if you don’t take a stand now, the City of Sydney is going to turn off the lights on Sydney's late night scene and its night time economy.

In 2007, the City of Sydney wrote a new set of planning rules which limited trading hours for late night premises such as night clubs, bars, pubs, restaurants and so on... It introduced a whole new world of red tape and cost to the industry, making it a whole lot more complicated to set up and to trade as a late night business....

Then in 2009, despite their denials, they tried to bring in mandatory 2am closures, but a concerted on-line campaign by literally thousands of patrons forced a rethink and a back down. Now in 2010, they're at it again and hoping to sneak this past you, and hoping you don’t notice....

Nanna State, organised by a group of venue owners are running a petition, to present to the Lord Mayor, in an attempt to stop what would be the cultural destruction of Sydney.
