With his latest single ‘Freaks’ alongside Timmy Trumpet sitting in the top 5 on the ARIA Singles Chart and achieving platinum sales, Ministry of Sound Australia is delighted to announce the signing of Savage in a deal encompassing recordings, publishing and touring. ‘Freaks’ is the second Savage release on Ministry of Sound’s Hussle imprint this year, following his triple platinum-selling #2 hit with Joel Fletcher, ‘Swing’.
The freshly inked deal sees Savage signed to Ministry of Sound Australia as a recording artist, 120 Publishing for writing, and Soapbox Artists for select touring in conjunction with Get Busy Productions. Get Busy continue to look after Savage’s live bookings, with Soapbox Artists looking after Savage’s DJ gigs and international touring.
Savage has enjoyed huge international chart success, having sold in excess of 2 million units in the US. He first came to attention with his scene stealing feature on Scribe’s ‘Not Many – The Remix’, then followed it up with a collaboration with Akon, ‘Moonshine’, that delivered Akon’s first ever #1 record anywhere in the world. And it’s there in the charts that Savage has stayed. With ‘Freaks’ hitting the top 5 on the ARIA Singles Chart and dominating the airwaves, Savage is now in the studio working on new solo material for release later this year, plus a string of high profile international collaborations for labels including Dutch EDM powerhouse Spinnin’ Records.
Savage is also set to mix a disc of the upcoming Ministry of Sound Maximum Bass compilation before stepping out of the studio and behind the decks for a national headline DJ tour packed with festival trap, EDM and bass heavy sounds. On joining Ministry of Sound Savage said, "Joining the Ministry Of Sound Australia family has been a really exciting turning point in my career as it has allowed me to reinvent myself as an artist and as an entertainer. It’s been amazing to see the success of the ‘Swing’ remix by Joel Fletcher and now ‘Freaks’ with Timmy Trumpet – all within the space of a year! My future in this lane with Ministry is looking to be a great one!"
Ministry of Sound Head of A&R Jeff Drake said, “Savage is a truly rare artist. He has brilliant stage presence and is as comfortable in front of the microphone as he is behind the decks. What sets Savage apart however is his completely unique voice. So few artists have a sound that is truly their own and Savage is one of them. He is the new voice of ‘get the fuck down’ dance music.”
