If you haven't heard of the NZ artist Kings yet, it might be time to get yourself acquainted. The New Zealand local has gone from bedroom singer/songwriter to #1 on iTunes & Shazam in New Zealand in a few short months, knocking over heavyweights Justin Bieber, The Chainsmokers and Rihanna. Better yet, his latest single 'Dont Worry 'Bout It' is starting to invade Aussie and International airwaves, cooking up to be one of the biggest tracks of Spring.
We got a hold of New Zealand's next big thing, to see who some of his biggest inspirations and favourite artists are.
Admittedly, when asked "Who do you listen to the most?", the dedicated and passionate songwriter replied "I listen to myself more than all on this list, mainly to critique and work on what I can do to improve my work, whether it be mix, vocal development, structures".....this young talent is dedicated to making his music better and better. Check out King's 8 Most Inspiring Artists below.
Suicide squad was ok, but the soundtrack was awesome, this track in particular got me.
Another great Aussie producer who I vibe to often, he's a beast.
An Australian producer, huge west coast influenced, with future bass feels. Love his work!
Another legend man, just doing it all well. Smashing it.
Wordplay, beats, subjects, and that he produces and he went in without collaborations, inspiration!
I'm a huge SOAD fan, know all their albums back to front.
The rest are currently, top 3 won't ever change, might vary but won't change.
I was always inspired by his perfectionist attitude toward everything he did. Performance and musically.
Always been in love with his music, big emotive and intense scores
