There's a first for everything, and It's hard to believe that in 2016 the 53 year-old iconic DJ/Producer Fatboy Slim has not only held down his first Ibiza residency, but also locked in his first reoccurring radio show. Thanks to Beats Radio 1 and Apple Music, the legendary DJ will be holding down a 2-hour radio show every fortnight, with the premise of only pre-selecting the first and last tracks in the 2-hour showcase.
In an interview with fellow Beats Radio 1 presenter Zane Lowe, Norman Cook expressed his excitement for the freestyle format. "That's the bit I'm looking forward to," Fatboy Slim explains to Lowe. "Not the idea that you're trying to mold me into some radio DJ. My idea is for two hours every fortnight I can go on this kind of musical journey and probably go to places much further than I can go because you're not trying to hold a dance floor. So it's an exciting unknown journey. I'm really looking forward to you making an honest DJ out of me."
With the first show airing over the weekend, you can already expect exciting things with a mashup of Fatboy Slim classics 'Praise You' and 'Sympathy For The Devil' kicking things off as one of the main talking points of the show…must listen!
Catch up on the show while it lasts below, and make sure to tune in over at Beats Radio 1.
