The Results Are In - inthemix Awards 2015

The last Wednesday in June marked the 2015 inthemix awards at the Ivy in Sydney, bringing together the biggest and best of the Australian dance music industry. Taking out the top spot in the inthemix50 people's choice poll was Sydneysider Timmy Trumpet, celebrating a huge year for his career, with his Savage collaboration 'Freaks' recently becoming the highest selling single in label MoS history after going five (!) times platinum. The top 5 also included last years winner Will Sparks at #2, MaRLo at #3, Tigerlily at #4 and Mashd N Kutcher at #5. Other noteworthy inclusions in the top 20 include Peking Duk at #10, SCNDL at #11, What So Not at #13 and A-Tonez at #18. Stereosonic was voted Australia's Favourite Festival, with Defqon.1 winning Favourite Event and Above & Beyond presented with Favourite International Artist.

A selected panel of local dance music industry figures judged the remainder of the awards, with Peking Duk named winners of the esteemed Artist of the Year award, Golden Features taking out Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Hayden James winning best track for 'Something About You' and label mates Flight Facilities winning Best Album for Down to Earth.

Favourite Club Night was taken out by Pacha Sydney for NSW, Cloud Nine in Victoria, The Met in Brisbane, HQ Saturdays in South Australia, Academy in Canberra and Japan 4 @ Ambar in WA.
