A short time ago, in his schoolyard years, Ember was the sort of kid to keep to himself and go about his day, but by semester’s end had earned himself dux of the year, won your whole bag of marbles and somehow taken your lunch money. Plain and simply put, Ember is one of those DJ’s that lets his skills do the talking.
Held in as high esteem by his fellow peers as he is by the masses, Ember is without question one of the countries most in demand, A-List talents. Riding the line between all things hipster house, hip hop, ghetto disco, techno, back room rock, dubstep and turbo funk, whatever you call it, it’s all there… then this kid manages to somehow blur the lines, bridge the gap, and throw it all together across 3 decks into one of his weekly renowned room rocking sets. If you have witnessed the vibe of one of his shows you know the kid has definitely been eating his Weetbix!
Earning his stripes on a national level, Ember’s actions continue to speak louder than words, turning clubs on their heads Australia wide, clockwise and anti clockwise, in a weekly musical decathlon, stocking up the air miles and sporting sets at some of Australia’s most iconic party spots.
With a host of accolades to his name that any mother would be proud of, Ember has cemented himself as one of the few Australian DJ’s to become part of the sought after Australian festival circuit. His jaw dropping sets have entertained 15,000 partygoers at Fuzzy’s iconic beachside New Years Eve Night Shore Thing, 38,000 on the Parklife Tour 4 years running, as well as Field Day 3 years in a row, even being picked out to play before Justice hit the main stage earlier this year. Add to that Sydney Festival First Night, Future Music, Splendour, Summafieldayze, and recently playing to thousands alongside Sydney Harbour before Aria winning band The Temper Trap at Harbourlife! The man has definitely come a long way from the local barbeques, birthdays and bloc parties those many years ago.
Showing that he can more than hold his own, this kid is regularly called upon to kick off the party or keep it in full swing amongst a sea of internationals, having repeatedly impressed and shared the stage with the likes of Missy Elliott, Duck Sauce, Erol Alkan, Kaskade, Groove Armada, Uffie, Laidback Luke, Cassius, Digitalism, Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki, Sinden, Fake Blood, Kissy Sell Out, Public Enemy, La Roux, Chromeo, Boys Noize, Mstrkrft, Tiga, Proxy, Busy P, Jack Beats, A Skillz, Treasure Fingers, Aeroplane, Soulwax, and a bucket list of other names that most kids could only dream of!
Packing more of a punch then Rocky (and that’s the good Rocky’s 1, 2, 3 and maybe 4) while doing it with the smoothness and charisma of a young George Clooney, Ember doesn’t just rock the spot, he destroys it. With an unrivalled ability to keep the kids dancing, shaking and even staying clutched to the dance floor into the early hours of a Monday morning, this man keeps his ear to the ground and head out of the clouds, both on stage and off. So with his working cap on, we end the talk up of our good friend here, and get down to party business… Let’s boogie.
