Ministry of Sound are spiking out with a full charge of this year’s biggest tracks in electro house! Charging up the current on disc one is the buzz man himself, Dave Winnel. Taking a moment from killing it on the Beatport and ARIA Club Charts to mix up a diagnosis of the biggest local and international dance acts. Disc two sees one of Australia’s most mischievous fresh makers, Tom Piper detonate a flux of new electro house hits onto the scene. We spoke to the guys about what electro house tracks are blowing their minds at the moment. The EHS7 Tour runs from May to July this year.
Showtek & Justin Primie Feat. Matthew Koma - Cannonball
I choose to open my mix with Cannonball, because for me, this track shaped Electro House this past year and really set the benchmark high for the quality of big room music. With the added vocal by Matthew Koma more recent this track has been given some new life as it's deserved.
Tommy Trash & Killagraham - The Little Death
Next up I wanted to take the mix straight into the underground & set up the mood for the rest of the disc with 'The Little Death'. The sounds in the 'drop' of this track are so unique & crazy and juxtaposed against he uplifting breakdown… It's just magic!!!
Dave Winnel & Mr Wilson - Fires Of Gold
Fires Of Gold is my new single which due for release in May so it was perfect timing to include on EHS. I'm really happy with how this song has turned out, it took so many long studio sessions to get the sounds right, but I think it was well worth it.
Tigerlilly & 2Less Feat. Ka$h - Faith (Glover Remix)
I really wanted to showcase some great Aussie music on my disc and Tigerlilly's 'Faith' was the perfect fit for this. Glover has been doing some great remixes of late which has seen him get noticed by Tommy Trash & Tiesto. Can't wait to see what he pulls out next.
Madison Avenue - Don't Call Me Baby (Andy Van 2014 Club Remix)
This classic was originally released in 2000. I remember hearing it all over the radio & TV. Not many people might know this, but Andy Van from Vandalism was also half of Madison Avenue. This year saw 'Don't Call Me Baby' get a rerelease with a huge remix pack, seeing it climb right to number 1 spot on the Aria Club Charts. So Happy I could include Andy's 2014 mix on my disc.
Peking Duk ft. Nicole Miller - High
Fucking dope tune by two true lords and the super talented Nicole Miller. I heard from the guys that there were some remixes coming and I asked to peep them as soon as I knew this CD was happening. There's some other great remixes but the sir Funkin Matt had the vibes for this comp. Me and that Norwegian lord are working on a tune atm too! Stay tuned.
Oliver Heldens - Gecko
Amazing production and super tight club record for me. So glad this got cleared for the comp. Perfect mix of vibes I'm into atm. Really works well out of the 'High' record on the comp too if I don't say so myself.. I'll have to remember them two work well for when I'm in the clurrrrb.
Nom De Strip & Nezzo – Sushi Of God
Slamming tune with some real vibe in it! This came on promo from Ol' Nom Nom just as the MOS guys were asking me for some tunes to suggest for the comp, this went straight to the top of my list!!! Playing it nearly every set for little bit now.
The Partysquad & Rob Pix - Born To Rave
New vibes from my brother Pixoss and The Partysquad. Love the vox on this one. I'm actually jussssst bouncing out the pre-master for my remix of this as I'm typing these track notes.. I wish I could take a photo to show you haha, funny timing. This hammers in the club as is. Gave it bit of a different flavour in my mix, getting mastered this week and out n about next!! Wooooo.
Mercer & DJ Snake – Lunatic
Big cool club vibes on this one. I think I read somewhere it was the most played record at Miami WMC this year, you can see why, and its been very regular in my late night club adventures too.
