In an era when it seems every DJ shows up to gigs carrying something smaller than a kid’s lunchbox, Doorly is the exception to this rule. Using a set up that would make even Zabiela blush (3 CDJs, 2 1210s, EFX unit and Pioneer 800 to be precise), when he says he’s DJing live, he means it.
Everything that you hear in is set his being created in the mix, there and then. Doorly’s movement behind the decks is relentless and he switches between musical genres with ease with a unfaltering energy he works together riffs, loops, beats and bass with seamless precision to create a musical mash up only attainable with true skill and passion.
Playing a mix of techno, electro, drum n Bass & dubstep mixed in with ample doses of indie and hip hop, expect the unexpected as it’s all about the party with Doorly. His style may best be classified as an old school block party DJ using new school technology.
His myspace page features some of his latest beats, and if that isn't enough, this video should whet your appetite to go see him when he starts touring through New Zealand and Australia in the next couple weeks.
