It's no secret that European music has long been an influence on Australian tastes, with the likes of Duke Dumont, Robin Schulz, Rudimental, DJ Snake and Disclosure (among many others) sitting pretty on the Aus iTunes charts during 2015. But here's the thing - in the not so distant past, these heavyweights were once unknown too.
Lately, we've noticed a few new players in the UK/European scene who have set their sights on worldwide domination; best be keeping your eye on these guys for all things dance, from commercial to underground, and everything in between.
London-based house DJ/Producer Sigala has caught everyone's attention in 2015 with the hit single 'Easy Love', which samples the Jackson 5 classic 'ABC'. Bruce Fielder was born and raised in Norfolk, England, and began playing piano as a child, and played in various bands after graduating university. He found work as a producer, and co-wrote Ella Eyre and Sigma's 2015 U.K. hit single 'Good Times.' Now with his second solo single 'Sweet Lovin' conquering the globe, it looks as though the house hitmaker is in it for the long haul.
'Sweet Lovin' is out on 4th December.
Off the bat, this London local has released his debut single featuring two of the biggest UK vocalists, Tinie Tempah and Katy B. Not only was his debut single a hit around the globe, but he knocked off the big guns of Justin Bieber and One Direction on his way to the #1 spot in the UK.
These guys have been on the techno circuit for a while, slaying the underground scene from Berlin to Ibiza and everywhere in between. The duo of Jakob Hildenbrand and Franziskus Sell met at a young age whilst studying sound engineering and have since played almost everywhere in the world, as well as starting their own 'Formatik' record label. Their claim to fame however, has come via their latest single 'Chunky', which has been picked up in the UK and described as "one of the most important house tracks of 2015" – Dancing Astronaut.
'Chunky' is out now on iTunes.
London duo Mant are the new underground kids on the block with their own eclectic style of production. The duo's electro influenced techno sound is truly distinguishable in a cluttered market of UK bass music, with the creation of progressive evolving beats and melodies that are impossible to pigeonhole in to a single genre; a sound that will no doubt become unanimous amongst underground listeners as the unmistakable sound of MANT. Their latest EP 'Freedom' was picked up by the Chase and Status founded label MTA Records who has produced monumental acts like Nero, Got Some, My Nu Leng, Franky Rizardo and Ben Pearce.
MANT's 'Freedom' EP is out now on iTunes.

Working on both the underground and commercial scene, Blinkie enjoys discovering and working with talents from all areas of the industry.
