Stuart Tyson a.ka Bass Kleph is fast becoming one of the biggest names in the Australian and international dance scene right now. As a DJ, Producer, Label Owner, Mix Engineer and occasional Radio Show Presenter (JJJ Mix Up) it is easy to see why!
Bass Kleph has been responsible for some of the biggest tracks and remixes over the past few years, and now with the inception of his own label Vacation Records, he is supporting and mentoring others to the same heights.
Stu’s first taste of success was his hugely popular ‘Wildcard’ release, which saw him receive massive club and radio support and a subsequent appearance on Ministry of Sound Breaks 04 compilation, along with another of his tracks ‘Ante Up’. ‘Ante Up’ was released as the B Side to ‘F*@cking The Groove’, the track which provided the soundtrack to the 2007-08 Toyota Hilux television advertising campaign, which instantly made Bass Kleph’s production a household sound.
Bass Kleph’s track ‘Coup d'etat’ was one of the biggest electro house anthems of 2007. It topped the charts on DJ Download and has been added to compilations such as the Ministry of Sound Electro House Sessions and Field Day 2008 CD. Bass Kleph has already become one of the most sought after remixers due to his consistently stella production work. He's won international awards for 'Best Remix', and had film clips shot for others in New York. His remix of the Shopliftas went to #1 on DJ Download, as did his remix for Alex Romano, and his remix of Hyper’s ‘No Rockstars’ came in a close #2. Bass Kleph’s remix of Robb G’s ‘12 Inch Therapy’ (which featured on the Ministry of Sound Clubbers Guide to 2008) was quoted as being "the tune of Miami WMC" in 2007.
Stu has also collaborated with Australian Nick Thayer on a number of productions, most notably ‘Ante Up’ and their remix for UK breakbeat champions Drumattic Twins’ ‘Feelin Kinda Strange’ (which featured on Ministry of Sound Breaks 04). He has also collaborated with Anthony Paul, their track ‘Helium’ became an instant hit and features on Ministry of Sound Mashed 4 and Ministry of Sound Mashed Five.
Bass Kleph is definitely a star of now and a superstar of the future!
