The Bumblebeez

The Bumblebeez is an Australian Hip Hop/Rock/Electro crew made up of Chris Colonna (Producer/Singer/Multi-Instrumentalist), his sister Pia a.k.a Queen ViLa (Vocals) and Jarrah Kidd (Guitar).

The band is well known for it’s cut-and-paste technique, combining hip hop and rock tracks with Chris and Pia laying vocals on top.

In 2002 Colonna entered two of his laptop-created productions (which number over 500 at last count) into the Fly Music Competition and Triple J Unearthed contests. The Bumblebeez won both and have never looked back. Later that year they released their debut EP, White Printz, which featured the singles ‘Ponyride’ and ‘Step Back’.

The Bumblebeez released their latest LP, Prince Umberto and the Sister of Ill in 2007, featuring the singles ‘Dr. Love’ (which features on Ministry of Sound Mashed 4) and ‘Rio’. The album was selected as Triple J's 'feature album and nominated for a J Award.
