Ben Westbeech

Ben Westbeech is a UK born DJ/Producer/Vocalist whose production styles range from hip-hop, soulful house and drum ‘n’ bass (when producing ‘DnB’ he goes by Lean).

Ben is a classically trained cellist, pianist and vocalist, raised on the rock & roll of his dad. He was turned onto beat and bass-driven music in the late 1980's, with influences ranging from N.W.A. to LTJ Bukem. At age 12 he bought turntables and started collecting and mixing music, playing in orchestras and choirs by day, and mixing dance music by night.

Ben was signed to Gilles Peterson’s Bronswood Recordings in 2006. The following year he released his debut album Welcome To The Best Years Of Your Life. The album featured the singles ‘So Good Today’, ‘Dance With Me’ (which features on Ministry of Sound Mashed 4) and ‘Hang Around’.
